S’Enfuir. L’identità migrante - Part II

The photographic exhibition “S’Enfuir, The migrant identity – Part II” by Brusson, conceived and curated by the Cultural Association La Clé sur la Porte, dedicated to the climatic migrants of Mongolia and Haiti, is part of a cultural program, developed in several stages, dedicated to the complex and articulated theme of the Self Image. This is a selection of 32 photographic shots from the “Environmental Migrants: The Last illusion” project by photographer Alessandro Grassani.

The images are exhibited outdoors in two very characteristic territorial contexts: 16 images are on display in the small lake area of the Municipality of Brusson (“S’Enfuir, L’Idità migrante – Part II”, dedicated to climate migrants of Mongolia and Haiti) and 16 others are located along the path of the mills and among the rural villages of the Municipality of La Magdeleine (“S’Enfuir, The migrant identity – Part I”, dedicated to climate migrants of the Bangladesh and Kenya).

Refugees, refugees or environmental migrants. They have no real name and under international law not even a status. They seem invisible and yet in 2050 they will be 200 million. Chasing the hope of a better future in the cities, these fishermen, peasants and farmers forced to flee rural areas due to climate change are often faced with their “ultimate illusion”: that of a better life in the city.
