Challand Saint Anselme

Challand Saint Anselme is a small village located at 1036 meters above sea level, characterized by the strong presence of chestnut and walnut woods. As with the nearby town of Challand Saint Victor, its medieval history is linked to the noble Challant family and, for this reason, it is not difficult to find ruins, ruins and small votive chapels of the time.

The village is also home to the Bechaz mine, one of the sites where gold was sought in the Monte Rosa valley and which today tells its story through information signs along its route.
Do not miss the Monterosarandò, an easy, cultural and gastronomic trekking route to be followed in all seasons, among medieval castles, vineyards and peaks. For a total of 98km of length with a total height difference of 4200 meters, this trek allows you to visit the most characteristic places of the Ayas Valley; from irrigation streams, mines, mule tracks, castles to the suggestive peaks of Monte Rosa.
